Malcolm and Jennie Bonnington write:

We would like to take this opportunity of commending the work done in Brittany by Roger and Beri Fray.

We live and work in Somerset but visit our cottage in Ploermel for a long weekend as often as we can. For us as Baptists of long standing , going to church on Sunday in France presented something of a problem until by a roundabout route we heard of the regular act of Christian worship nearer to our doorstep than we could have imagined.

It was a joy to meet members of such an active fellowship and to discover the caring leadership of Roger and Beri. The pattern of service and presentation of the Gospel message are most acceptable to believers from different backgrounds, and the Ploermel congregation is visibly growing, being a mix of committed , mature Christian couples, young families, ex-patriots and local folk, enquirers and visitors alike.

Their parish is vast. Many of the congregation travel an hour or more to worship every week, which is why others can only manage every month or so, and all this makes an interesting guess as to whom we will see.

There is also a congregation meeting once a month at Nantes, an hour's drive to the south, and new work in Finistere, a similar distance to the west, is now being set up which demonstrates how Roger and Beri are totally committed to their calling.

We are grateful to God for the love, time and hospitality that they show to those in need and difficult situations. They are generating a loyal team of supportive helpers, and are seeing the fruit-harvest from their labours.

Christ Church in Brittany therefore is developing quickly, and its sense of koinonia or fellowship is fostered by the shared lunches after the sertvice mostly held chez Frays at Le Lesnot. We are always given a generous welcome, have appreciated the friendship of newly found brothers and sisters in Christ and warmly commend the work for your support and prayers
