There is much more to Christ Church, Ploermel than service at 11a.m. Just as you would expect there are the support activities you should find in any Anglican parish. More unusually there is also a English language library of popular fiction open every Thursday afternoon, plus a few serious books. And they have real coffee after morning service! If those times or location are not suitable for you then there is also a service at Nantes (except July & August) and at Guerlesquin. A number of special services occur and these can normally be found on the Diary page. If you want to just make contact at an informal service then about once a quarter there is a COME AND SEE informal worship at 17.00, this is normally listed in the Diary page if there is one due shortly. More details from the Chaplain, Christ Church Brittany tel. 02 97 22 31 38. LA SOURCE LA SOURCE (also at 14 Rue General Dubreton) is the new drop in and outreach centre for Christ Church. The vision for La Source is that this will be a hub for the work of Christ Church; a means of being visible and available during the week; a place where visitors and those who have nmoved to Brittany can be welcomed and helped to find their way through the intricacies of setting up life in France; the site of the Chaplaincy Office; a comfortable lounge area to sit and relax; the venue for the English language library; where courses can be run; where those seeking a listening ear will feel welcome. A place where we can live out our mission statement' To know Jesus Christ and make Him known'; a place where all will be welcomed and valued for who they are, and not for what they can do, and where God will be glorified in our dealings with each other.' For further details of the activities taking place at La Source please see our diary page. LIBRARY Our English language library is now housed in La Source, and is available whenever the centre is open. We also offer a service to all who own gites and chambres d'hotes, who can have a box of books for their visitors, and can change them when they wish. Please tell your friends about this service, and contact: Don Dykes with any queries on 02.97,27,10.41, or call La Source. |
